HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO ORDER A TICKET?
Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Tickets cannot be ordered in the name of a minor.
HOW MANY FALL LOTTERY TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE?
A maximum of 16,667 lottery tickets are available.
WHAT ARE THE TICKET PRICES FOR THE FALL LOTTERY?
Tickets are 1 for $15, 3 for $40, 5 for $60, 10 for $100 and 30 for $250 (maximum 100 bundles).
WHAT ARE THE TICKET PRICES FOR THE BONUS 50/50 DRAW?
50/50 Raffle tickets will only be available for purchase with a lottery ticket package. 50/50 Raffle tickets are 5 for $10, 40 for $20, 200 for $50, 300 for $75 and 1000 for $99. Regular lottery tickets and 50/50 Raffle tickets can be sold in a bundle at the same value.
WHAT ARE GUIDELINES REGARDING NUMBER OF NAMES ON FOR THE FALL LOTTERY & 50/50 RAFFLE TICKETS AND PAYMENT TERMS?
All tickets must contain the same name and information. Only one form of payment may be used per purchase. Ticket numbers will be issued in sequential order.
CAN I GIFT MY TICKETS?
Tickets are non-transferrable. The prize will be awarded to the individual whose name appears as purchasing the ticket.
CAN SOMEONE WHO LIVES OUTSIDE ONTARIO BUY A TICKET?
Yes, however ticket buyers must be in Ontario at the time of order.
WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO ORDER A TICKET?
The following individuals and family residing in the same household are not eligible to purchase tickets:

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY TICKETS?
Generally, within five minutes of purchase you will receive your ticket if the purchase is done online with a valid email address. Ticket orders that are sent in via postal mail, may take up to two weeks to be processed.
I HAVEN’T RECEIVED MY OFFICIAL TICKET / IT CONTAINS A SPELLING / ADDRESS ERROR
Your official ticket will be sent to you via email at point of sale. If there appears to be any issues you may email us at development@hbspca.com
I HAVE DELETED THE EMAIL WITH MY LOTTERY TICKET, AM I STILL ELIGIBLE FOR THE DRAWS?
Yes. You do not need your ticket in hand to be included in the draws. For ticket-related inquiries, please email development@hbspca.com
I DON’T HAVE AN EMAIL ADDRESS; HOW DO I GET A COPY OF MY TICKET?
If you do not have an email address, please call us at 905-574-7722 and we can purchase your tickets with you over the phone.
I’M NOT ABLE TO OPEN MY ELECTRONIC TICKETS. WHAT DO I DO?
If you are not able to open your email to retrieve your ticket, email us at development@hbspca.com
WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF A CREDIT CARD IS DECLINED?
If there is an issue with your credit card, the point of purchase system will not allow your ticket to be purchased. If you cannot use your credit card, you can mail in your ticket form with a cheque or cash.
IF I WIN THE EARLY BIRD DRAW IS MY TICKET STILL ELIGIBLE FOR THE GRAND PRIZE?
Yes, winners of the early-bird draw will have their ticket re-entered for the grand-prize draw and any other weekly prizes yet to be drawn. You have six opportunities at winning a prize: five weekly draws, the final grand-prize draw, and the 50|50 draw, if you opted to purchase bonus 50|50 tickets.
WHEN IS THE EARLY BIRD PRIZE DRAW?
The Early-Bird Draw is $2500 cash. All qualifying tickets for the 1st Early-Bird Draw must be purchased by 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The Early-Bird Draw will occur at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at the HBSPCA Admin office, McMaster Innovation Park 175 Longwood Rd S Suite 400, Hamilton, ON L8P 0A1.
DO I HAVE T0 BUY LOTTERY DRAW TICKETS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 50|50?
Yes. You will not be able to buy 50|50 tickets without first adding lottery tickets to your cart.
CAN I BUY LOTTERY DRAW TICKETS AND THEN GO BACK LATER TO PURCHASE 50|50 TICKETS?
No. You must purchase the 50|50 tickets in the same transaction as the lottery draw tickets. If you decide afterwards that you want to play the 50|50, you will have to purchase at least 1 more Lottery Draw ticket to unlock access to the bonus 50|50 ticket options.
WHERE DOES THE OTHER HALF OF THE 50|50 JACKPOT GO?
The other half of the 50|50 pot will be donated to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA. Lottery revenue helps offset the costs of caring for surrendered animals, from the moment they enter our care until they are adopted into new homes. When you play, the animals always win.
WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF WINNING?
The odds of winning a prize are based on the number of tickets sold.
IS MY TICKET PURCHASE TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
Lottery or raffle tickets are not eligible for a charitable tax receipt as per Canada Revenue Agency rules and regulations.
IF I WIN, IS MY PRIZE SUBJECT TO TAXATION?
No. Prizes won are not taxable. Lottery winnings are considered a windfall and not taxable in Canada.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO CLAIM MY PRIZE?
Any unclaimed prizes by May 27, 2026 (6 months after the final draw) will be donated to Humane Canada (Registered Charity # BN 118830884 RR0001) so the funds can benefit animal welfare with the approval of the AGCO.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CANNOT PICK UP MY PRIZE IN PERSON?
Winners will be mailed a cheque for their prize to the address used at the time of purchase. Winners may claim their prize in person, by appointment only at the HBSPCA Admin office, McMaster Innovation Park 175 Longwood Rd S Suite 400, Hamilton, ON L8P 0A1. The Grand Prize winner ($20,000) must receive their cheque in person on an agreed date at the HBSPCA Admin office, McMaster Innovation Park 175 Longwood Rd S Suite 400, Hamilton, ON L8P 0A1. If receiving their prize in person, winners must show a picture I.D and proof of the winning ticket via email on mobile or a printed copy. Prizes will not be given and held until the above-mentioned is provided.
HOW ARE WINNERS NOTIFIED?
The winner’s first name, last initial and winning ticket number will be announced on hbspcalottery.ca/2025. An HBSPCA staff member will notify all winners by phone. Winners agree to the use of their first name and last initial and possibly a photo for announcement/publicity purposes by the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA.
WHO IS BUMP CBN?
A division of Canadian Bank Note, BUMP is a registered gaming supplier with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). Ticket fulfillment and draw control are provided by BUMP for the Fall Lottery & 50/50 Raffle. For more information, visit https://bumpcbn.com/.
